A popular haunt of suits in the morning, tourists around lunchtime and general good folk at all times, Remedy incorporates all the great things about life into one café. Coffee, books, friendliness, avocadoes, wooden interiors – the list is endless. Being situated opposite The Civic and with large shop front windows, this café is a prime location for perching up with a long black, people-watching till your eyes hurt.

Red Rabbit coffee is on the grind at Remedy; a single origin espresso that changes every 3 months. They also use a wide variety of filter coffee from roasters such as Flight Coffee and Point of Yield. Pastries and breads from Dusty Baker and Bread & Butter keep hunger at bay, as well as offerings of bagels, fancy toasts and many vegan options.

The book exchange is another concept that needs attention. Along with free wi-fi, board games and an arcade machine, these add-ons supply a revival of warmth and community in the rat-race of the CBD.

A cross between a quirky book shop and a boutique coffee shop, Remedy is on the must-visit list of Auckland cafes.
