A cleverly designed restaurant that even with its massive size, feels anything but empty, Charley Noble is an expert example of how to create a dining atmosphere that is right no matter the size of your group. Get comfortable in a dimly lit corner with a date, or eat alongside a collection of others in the large open dining area. Wondering about the name? Charley Noble was the tongue in cheek term for the galley chimney on old sailing ships - a reference to the British captain Charles Noble who insisted that it be kept bright and free of soot.

With plenty of wood fired rotisserie and grill meats available, if you are feeling famished you can go for something notable like the grilled venison rump with spinach, wild rocket pesto, vanilla and cauliflower deer milk purée. Although beef eaters will be more than pleased with the impressive array of fillets, sirloin and ribeye available too.

The kind of place where no cocktail is too tricky to make, make yourself comfortable at the bar and be entertained by the cool staff while they shake or stir you up something special. Stuck for ideas? The cocktail of the week is always a good place to start. For the wine connoisseurs, you have come to the right place. Charley Noble showcases wines from around the globe, but with a firm New Zealand focus. And keen supporters of fellow Wellingtonians, expect to find rotating beers on tap from breweries in the neighbourhood.
