The tagline and ethos at Elements say it all, ‘Real food, everyday’, and this popular Wellington café is a destination for good reason.
The spacious and bright interior is divided into three separate rooms and can accommodate both large groups and those who want a more intimate setting. The 1920’s building was originally a butcher’s shop and some remnants can still be spotted, including an old chiller door that has been repurposed as a mirror and the variety of hooks that hang around the room.
The back room of the restaurant features their retail store which stocks a range of curated NZ made producers and artisans while there take a moment to view the black and white photo of Lyall bay beach from the 1920s that covers the entire wall.
The team at Elements believes that food should be a pleasure and an experience, which they achieve with apparent ease via a diverse menu focusing on fresh, simple flavours. Although famous for their goat’s cheese soufflé, each of the tasty offerings shines just as brightly and the use of homemade and local ingredients will leave you feeling completely satisfied. With a selection of plant-based foods on the menu there is absolutely something for everyone which means even your fussiest friends will love this place. If you’re in need of a caffeine fix then the fresh Allpress coffee is sure to hit the spot—these guys serve up a fantastic flat white.
Those who love their condiments will appreciate the house-made dressings, relishes and myriad of pickled foods that accompany each dish. With professional and attentive service the team at Elements will be sure to make you feel welcome and looked after, so pull up a seat, soak up the relaxed atmosphere and enjoy your time—there’s no rush.
