The long wait is over! Level 3 has arrived and with it a host of exciting takeaway and delivery options from some of the Garden City's finest eating and drinking establishments.

We can’t wait to get back to business as usual with Miro’s bottomless brunch. Until then, however, you can host your own at home with their new takeaway menu, seven days a week from 8am to 2pm. Options like the waffles with grilled apricot, bacon, pecans and coconut yoghurt are on offer alongside freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, coffees and house made bagels. Pomeroy's Old Brewery Inn

292 Kilmore Street, Christchurch

Start the day off right at Little Pom’ then grab lunch, dinner and/or libations from Pomeroy’s (next door) to round out a solid set of meals. Lyttelton standout, SUPER, is back in the game with an exciting and expansive takeaway menu from noon to late, Wednesday to Sunday. Their karaage fried chicken is not to be missed and neither is the Hangi style pork belly. Pair with their wok greens for a complete meal. The Birdwood

Amateur bread baking made a come back during lockdown, but we are still chomping at the bit to get back to our favourite neighbourhood bakeries. Thankfully The Birdwood is now open for takeaway coffees, scones, light meals, pizzas, pastas and sides from 9 to 2pm and 4 to 9pm Monday to Sunday. Their wood fired pizzas are made with a tried and true sourdough base, and the menu includes plenty of gluten free options like gnocchi with slow cooked lamb, mushroom, bacon and kale. This team of expert gelato makers will be delivering their creations Tuesday to Saturday in Opawa, St. Martins and Waltham (and possibly further afield depending on demand). Keep an eye on their Facebook page for evolving info on flavours and delivery locations. Every 1 litre tub of gelato comes with six waffle cones and is $30. Chef Alex Davies and his team have launched a takeaway option that’s got it all. Fish Supper by Gatherings feeds 3 to 4 and includes a whole fish with sides, sauces and flatbreads for $45 (or $25 if you just want the fish). Oysters and sourdough are also on offer.

Twenty Seven Steps

Named one of New Zealand’s best restaurants by Cuisine, Twenty Seven Steps is offering the city a top tier, Friday night menu with a side of community. When you order from them you will have the option to donate $2 to a local charity. The Twenty Seven Steps team will match that donation and provide a big meal for that week’s selected charity. 

Their menu includes heat and eat meals like risotto with broadbean, pea, spinach and gorgonzola and stout braised ox cheek with potato, leek and bacon mash. Order on their website by Wednesday evening for Friday delivery ($4) from 4pm.

The Laboratory in Lincoln serves some seriously tasty pizzas, snacks, taps and craft beers which are  now available takeaway Tuesday to Sunday from 4 to 8pm. To order text 022 035 7931. For a winning combination order the ‘Fungi’ pizza (smokey bacon, sauteed mushrooms, spinach, taleggio and truffle oil) with a rigger of The Lab’s Isotopic IPA.

This CBD favourite has returned with a solid array of takeaway options including coffees, scones, wraps and pizzas served weekdays from 7am to 3pm and weekends from 8am to 2:30pm. Dose Diner is back weekdays from 7:30 to 2:30 and weekends from 8:30 to 2:30 for online orders and pick up. This spot has been pouring delicious barista beverages made with Lyttelton Coffee beans for eleven years, so be sure to grab a cup and pair it with any of their tasty dishes, for example the custard brioche french toast or Big Dose breakfast. Grizzly Baked Goods have re-opened their online ordering for both deliveries and pre-orders for pick-up from their Buchan Street window. Open seven days from 9am-2pm, they will also be serving espresso alongside their famous pastries, donuts, breads and sandwiches.

To arrange a delivery, head over to their website to place your order. All  online orders require 48 hours notice (e.g if you want a delivery Wednesday, you need to order by Monday by 6pm). Deliveries take place on a Wednesday and Saturday, and are free with orders over $20 (use code FREEDEL).

Miss Peppercorn

Sumner’s Szechuan favourite, Miss Peppercorn, now offers contactless pick-up and delivery. Level 3 specials, which can be found on their website, like the mad spicy cold noodles come served with shredded chicken breast, cucumber, bean sprouts and spicy carrots (if you like it hot). Lyttelton local, Civil and Naval, is open with a comfort food focused takeaway menu that features some of their classic dishes and rotating specials. On Thursdays they’ll be serving up ‘Not your mumma’s lasagne’ with panzanella and rocket salad. On Fridays expect Heisenburgers (vegan option available) with fries and milkshakes. Caffeine Laboratory regulars rejoice! This New Regent Street favourite is open for takeaway and delivery. Expect their top quality beverages alongside made to order toasties from $9, daily fresh muffins and scones from $4.20 and ready to eat meals for two or more including dishes like red wine braised beef cheek, pulled pork burgers, lemon and apricot chicken tagine and traditional bolognese and ravioli all from $31.

Your local ice cream shop in Sumner and on High Street, Utopia Ice, now has an online store for pickup and delivery orders. Find all the treats on their website including a range of homemade cookies (i.e all the ingredients you need for ice cream sammies).

Riverside Kitchen and a collection of Riverside Market vendors have launched a collaboration that’s exciting, nutritious and all about supporting local. Head to their website to check out their new Market Boxes which contain beautiful produce from an array of vendors and are delivered straight to your door on Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 2 to 5pm.

We simply can’t wait for Moon Under Water, one of the city’s most authentic and lovable neighbourhood pubs to re-open. But in the meantime, we’re pretty excited to see they’ve launched a takeaway menu available Wendesdays to Sundays from 5 to 8pm. This scoop shop truly knows how to bring a smile to the city. Rollickin has launched an app and with it, a free first scoop for all when you download (limited time only via Google Play and Apple stores). It’s just a part of Rollickin’s new and amped up dessert offerings. Their Cashel Street store is now open for click and collect. Simply order via the app and head on down. Hotel Montreal’s Polo Bar and Restaurant is now offering take away tapas that are full of delicious Argentinian inspired flavours and ingredients.
