The 24th – 28th of April 2018 is going to be an exciting few days on the nation’s culinary calendar as two of Aotearoa’s legendary restaurants – Auckland’s Orphans Kitchen and Christchurch’s Gatherings – come together to bring to life New Zealand’s first restaurant swap.

The exchange is part of a nationwide initiative sparked by Tom Hishon of Orphans Kitchen and Alex Davies of Gatherings – Root to Petal Week – which aims to celebrate plant focused cookery and engage the public as well as other restaurants in the ongoing conversation around the joys and environmental impacts of a plant based diet.

The two award winning restaurants will reflect the genre of cuisine from their home bases with Gatherings taking over Orphans Kitchen making it 100% plant based and offering their delicious five-course set menu. Orphans Kitchen will be presenting their innovative cuisine following the same ethos and taking over Gatherings for the week.

Spots for this swap will fill up fast – to book your place, visit orphanskitchen.co.nz or gatherings.co.nz
