A directory of where and how to shop local Christchurch retailers post-lockdown.

Ever since the 2020 lockdown, retail businesses have had to get creative to reach their audience. Revealing the age-old Kiwi ingenuity in spades. The businesses on this list have been adapting and adjusting their offering to keep the cogs turning and the lights on (whatever the levels). Christchurch retailers need us right now and hopefully, you can continue to support local and shop independently.

The Tannery

The Tannery plays host to an ever-growing, yet carefully curated selection of stylish shops and dining options. Amongst this line-up of impressive independent retailers, there is a bunch offering customers the chance to browse and purchase during Level 2 and 3.

For now, it'll have to be online. On the website, you'll find a collection of NZ arts and crafts including a selection of Glenrups; the much-loved and hardwearing wool felted slippers made out of 95% NZ wool alongside artworks from Christchurch local, Eva Jackson.  Shopology offers an online Click and Collect service and courier nationwide.

If lockdown had you reaching for your novel, you'll be pleased to hear University Bookshop will be processing online orders at Level 3 (however not open for Click & Collect due to the UC campus closure). At Level 2, University Bookshop will be open to customers from 9.00am - 5.00pm. Feel free to still order online, but they'd love to see you in-store complete with your trendy mask.

The gallery is closed under level 3, however, they are able to post deliveries and arrange contact-less collections.
