A family walking across the street in Feilding.

Voted New Zealand’s Most Beautiful Town not once but fourteen times, downtown Feilding is full of quaint architecture and colourful flower beds. Surrounded by fertile farmland on all sides, Feilding is home to some of the friendliest locals and freshest food we’ve found around New Zealand. Head there any day of the week to explore all it has to offer.

If you can though, plan to visit on a Friday. Feilding’s Farmers Market pops up every Friday of the year in the heart of town just beneath the clock tower. With live music and lots of yummy food to try it’s a fun event for the whole family, and an excellent showcase of the region’s producers and artisans. Just down the road you’ll find the stockyard which was once one of the largest in the southern hemisphere. Take a tour to learn about Feilding’s agriculture history that dates back to the 1800s and then head along to any one of the local restaurants that serve up the region’s award winning beef and lamb alongside vibrant produce and other flavours of the Manawatū.
