If you love a good neighbourhood bar in the city, 12 Bar is the spot for you. 12 Bar brings together all our favourite things; beer, food and music in abundance.
Firstly, there’s no shortage of excellent craft beer here. You can be assured 12 Bar will have top quality New Zealand pours hooked up to every tap. The friendly bartenders can answer all of your questions and are always happy to let you try a few. You can even grab a takeaway rigger if that’s your style. In fact, 12 Bar has a little something for everyone including familiar, long time favourites from Speights and DB. New Zealand wines are on offer as well and it’s not uncommon to find a group sipping on a variety of the options.
Because great beer calls for great food, 12 Bar has a permanent food truck kitchen: Craft Eats. So if you fancy a burger with your pint, they’ll be sure to whip up a delicious treat for you and your mates (or your kiddos!). 12 Bar have created a family-friendly vibe on weekends that perfectly echoes their philosophy of welcoming everyone from the community. With board games and lawn games also available, this local has no shortage of entertainment and fun. It’s the perfect place to catch up with a mate or bring the whole family and even your dog.
Last but not least, the music. 12 Bar hosts a mix of free and ticketed live music four nights a week. You’ll find everything from across the genre spectrum within their walls. Blues, Funk, Rock, Indie, Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop, Electronic and Metal, you name it! Follow 12 Bar’s social media for regular updates.
Just like its sister pub, Moon Under Water, 12 Bar is as committed to community work as they are to having a great time. Regular events hosted in conjunction with community groups give visitors the chance to come and enjoy themselves while also supporting one another.
