If you love an American style dive bar or simply appreciate a friendly local, this spot is for you. 12 Bar brings together beer, food and music to create a good vibe visitors come back for.

There’s no shortage of craft beer here. Whenever you visit 12 Bar you can be sure that top quality New Zealand pours will be hooked up to every tap. The friendly bartenders can answer all of your questions and are always happy to let you try a few.

12 Bar has also teamed up with local legend, The Beer Library, to make it easier than ever to expand your beer horizons. Here you'll find several fridges curated by The Beer Library that feature the best bottled beer and cider NZ has to offer. Enjoy it on site or takeaway (there's a refillery option for tap beer, too).

If craft beer isn’t your thing though, don’t sweat it. 12 Bar has a little something for everyone including familiar, long time favourites from Speights and DB. New Zealand wines are on offer as well and it’s not uncommon to find a group sipping on a variety of the options.

Because great beer calls for great food, 12 Bar has a permanent food truck kitchen. Beat Kitchen, from Wellington, whip up delicious eats here and also do delivery via the usual apps.

Last but not least, the music. 12 Bar features frequent live acts with a focus on the blues. They're dedicated to this feel good, beer-in-hand type of music and acts have included the South Street Trio, Matt Hall, Wolf Belly and The Penny Blues Band.  Follow 12 Bar's social media for regular updates.

With board games and lawn games also available, this local has no shortage of entertainment and fun. It’s the perfect place to catch up with a mate or bring the whole family and even your dog.

Just like its sister pub, Moon Under Water, 12 Bar is as committed to community work as they are to having a great time. Regular events hosted in conjunction with community groups give visitors the chance to come and enjoy themselves while also supporting one another.
