It’s a new addition to Lyttelton’s much loved London street, but Eruption Brewing feels like it has always been there. This could be put down to a few things – maybe it’s the cool, relaxed fit out which slots in perfectly next to the neighbouring bars and shops, maybe it’s the fact locals flock here as if it’s been there forever or maybe it’s related to the damn delicious beer people have come to know and love since 2013 when the brewery first started in Woolston. Or maybe it’s all of the above.

But whatever the reason, Eruption Brewing is a must-visit for anyone after a good brew or two, delicious food and a nice relaxing space to hang out in with friends. The option to take bottles of beer away to enjoy at home is an added bonus and one that makes a visit to Eruption even more appealing.

Spanning three levels, Eruption is housed in a beautiful old building which was formerly a bank. Two years of renovating later and this spot and us is set up for some serious fun and is a space that lends itself perfectly to an after work drink and snack, a weekend dinner with friends or even a spot of brunch towards the end of the week (a build your own breakfast menu? Yes please!)

The beer itself is pretty spectacular too. Eruption ales are made onsite at the brewery from New Zealand hops, New Zealand malts and none of the nasty stuff – no preservatives, colours or chemicals. Just plain delicious beer erupting with flavour and made to be enjoyed.
