Pescatore sits at the very high end of the spectrum when it comes to your dining out options. Situated on the second level of The George Hotel with an elevated view of Hagley Park framed by weeping willows, this elegant space is modern and striking. Though the restaurant exists within the hotel, it most certainly stands well on its own and welcomes guests, visitors and locals alike.

As the name Pescatore suggests (translating to ‘fisherman’ in Italian), the menu is heavily based on seafood. Chef de Cuisine Ryan Henley works hard to create pure culinary art together with his small kitchen team, with the aim to create as less a carbon footprint as possible.

Everything that comes into the kitchen is sustainably sourced from line caught fish to organic vegetables. Everything also comes in as fresh as you can imagine. Fish caught the day before is brought in whole and broken down in the kitchen, while clams and scampi are live until moments before they are plated.

You can choose between a five or seven course degustation menu or take your pick from the a la carte menu. The attentive and knowledgeable front of house staff will assist you with perfect wine pairing and make sure your dining experience in its entirety is nothing but exceptional.

With every detail carefully considered behind the scenes, it’s no wonder that even the plates and ceramic serving ware used here have been designed by the chef himself together with a local potter, and created solely for the use of Pescatore. Ceramic butter knives and wooden bread trays by a local wood turner are also in the making.

The pairing of natural products with the contemporary fine dining setting creates a relaxing yet luxurious atmosphere. Expect nothing but the best at Pescatore and you won’t be disappointed.
