With a slick, urban feel, Welles Street is indeed a slick, urban pub operation. Behind the colourful, street-facing mural is a 1950s warehouse refitted with all the trappings of a modern hospitality space.
Patrons can take their pick between sitting streetside, in the beer garden or at one of the vast indoor tables. There is also a spacious standing area near the olive green-tiled bar with 24 beer taps - many which rotate local craft beers. There is a definite session vibe to Welles St, so don’t be surprised if you end up staying longer than anticipated.
Orders off the extensive menu - a Mediterranean take on classic pub fare - are taken at the bar or kitchen, and customers are notified via text when their meal is ready to collect.
Lunch and dinner is available every day with brunch served on weekends along with Flight coffee and a millennial pink frozen yogurt machine dishes up a unique array of dessert flavours daily.
Dogs are allowed outside and in the beer garden, there is free wi-fi, a pool table and a big screen, and bookings and functions are welcome.
