Walking into the A&C Homestore feels a bit like coming home. The delicious rows of plush linens and textiles, artful displays of candelabras, and cosy seating arrangements immediately strike up visions of a dinner party with your best mates. It’s the kind of store that you could get lost in, the kind of place you want to return to again and again.

While A&C first came on the home goods scene as an online store and pop-up shop in 2015, it’s since evolved into four humming enterprises, with the newest one being right here in Christchurch. The concept was founded by Alex and Corban Walls—former winners of The Block—under the steadfast belief that even in the midst of so much chaos in the world, your home can remain a sanctuary. “Home and the way we live is something that we can shape to be what we want it to be. It's our little piece of the world that we can make our own, and make better,” they share.

While the shop has no shortage of beautiful home goods to sort through, it also has knowledgeable staff who you can go to for inspiration and renovation advice. Whether you need a floor plan, a moodboard, or just someone to bounce ideas off of, the service here is inviting, helpful, and eager to help you make your house a home. Given the warm and thoughtful nature of the entire A&C team, it’s no surprise that their ethos focuses solely on sourcing products that are kind to people, and kind to the planet.

Our only word of advice before you step into this stunning addition to the Christchurch CBD? Make sure you’ve allotted plenty of time to browse and daydream to your heart's content.
