Cloud 9 Float Club offers a truly unique experience to its growing clientele. From the moment you enter this tranquil space, you'll feel welcomed and relaxed. The purpose built premises is the perfect environment for floating and friendly staff will guide you in how to get the most from your therapy.

Cloud 9 owners Tim and Laura Bateman first experienced flotation therapy overseas and were immediately convinced of its benefits for both physical and mental wellbeing. They wanted to share the magic of it with the people of Christchurch and opened their doors in 2016. Float in one of the four state-of-the-art pods, each containing 500kg of Epsom salts to create a weightless experience.

Flotation therapy mitigates the effect of gravity on the joints, meaning that bones and connective tissues have time to heal rather than support the body. Clinical research has shown it can decrease blood pressure, heart rate and cortisol levels and aid in the management of a range of different stress and pain-related conditions.

At Cloud 9 you’ll be floating in a private, soundproof room. The experience here is like nothing else.

Sink into blissful nothingness as tranquil calming music plays inside your pod. As you adjust to your float, the music fades. How you spend the rest of your time is up to you. Some use it as an active time to think and get in touch with their creativity, others prefer a passive float and try to switch off entirely or even fall asleep. There’s no stimulation in the pod. The tranquil environment is something our bodies and minds aren't used to, so to really experience flotation therapy it’s best to try it at least twice.

The benefits of flotation therapy are backed up by science, and include helping to break the cycle of anxiety or stress, provide pain relief and improve sleep patterns. Taking time from your busy schedule to float is not just pampering yourself, it is filling your tank so you can do more and be the best version of yourself. There’s no time like the present to give it a go!
