Housed in the second oldest building in Hamilton, Cook Street Social sure has walls that could tell a tale or two. Once a soap makers, this space was then a local pub for many years before the clever guys from Good George took over and made it their own.

Cheeky mottos dotted round the walls remind you to ‘choose YES’, ‘look on the bright cider life’ and ‘keep it social’, and in true Good George fashion this place is low key, friendly and completely unpretentious. Staff are bubbly and genuine, which not surprisingly, goes down well with the genuine (and bubbly if you’re keen!) beers. Walls are stacked with Good George boxes so there’s no doubting who you’ve got for company on the taps here. Choose from their epic range of APAs, IPAs, ales and ciders, all one of which is sure to take your fancy.

Plenty of events, and happy to host yours, mean there’s no shortage of people through the doors. Come Monday for the weekly quiz night, Sunday for an end of week roast or throughout the week for a generous happy hour and a pizza special. Promising to raise a pint to both the misfits and those on the straight and narrow, Cook Street Social is a bar and restaurant that hosts all walks of life, and is absolutely proud of it.
