In true Madam Woo fashion, a visit to the Hamilton restaurant is another impeccable dining experience from the team who put the fun into authentic Malaysian. Sit out on the sun soaked deck under palm fronds and big umbrellas (spare sunhats and sunscreen are available for those really roasting days) and enjoy the serenity of the nearby river.

The immense indoor dining area is often filled quickly by hungry diners, so a sliding door out the back hides another glamorous room that is opened up every night. An in-house bar prepares your choice from an ample drinks list, including a number of specialised cocktails - try the ‘Dark & Stormy’ with rum, fresh lime and ginger beer, or the ‘Singapore Sling’ with gin, cherry, benedictine, pineapple, lime and bitters. Vietnamese drip coffee with condensed milk is another favourite for caffeine lovers wanting to try out a different version of the flat white.

The brilliantly designed menu is all about sharing, so make sure your company is happy to divvy up the delicious fare as it’s sent your way. Steamed, fried, spicy or sweet, the flavours are unmistakably fresh and with energetic, knowledgeable and genuine staff looking after you, it’s no wonder a visit to Madam Woo feels right every time.
