Hidden behind Hamilton’s main artery of Victoria Street, Miltons Canteen may soon become your daily destination for a morning brew and delicious bite, serving Supreme coffee and Noble & Savage tea.
Muffins, scones, slices, doughnuts, scrolls, brioches, cake, quesadillas, frittatas, wraps, sammies, chia puddings and raw slices, their cabinet is chocca with great tasting, amazingly presented, reasonably priced food. There is also a brunch menu of simple, clever breakfast items with the distinct style of Supreme we’ve come to know and love.
Miltons Canteen has been running for over four years and has established a loyal band of coffee drinking regulars who are found reading the morning paper and enjoying the old ‘50s photos of New Zealand’s beautiful landscape.
Simple is sometimes the most effective - Miltons' style is bright, modern and refreshing, and with free WIFI too, you may want to order a couple of coffees and enjoy the atmosphere for an hour or two. They have a range of New Zealand made and owned tonics and juices, serving the Aotea range, Karma Cola and Kombucha.
Thursday is pie day! Milton’s Canteen bake a new delicious pie (or ‘cake’ to us Kiwis) each Thursday to serve with different flavours of locally acclaimed Duck Island Ice Cream. Forget your scarred memories of the pies from the school canteen - Miltons is a real gem to remember next time you’re on the hunt for a coffee in the inner city.
