Representing the best original works of local Nelson Tasman and New Zealand artists is the driving force behind Parker Gallery. The dealer gallery on the edge of Wakatu Square is situated in a 1950s building that originally housed a tyre factory and sheepskin manufacturers, prior to being transformed into an art space. The rustic interiors and predominantly white walls with a splash of colour work as the perfect contrast to a diverse range of artworks.

Parker Gallery owner-operator Leonie Allen is a long-term art enthusiast and expert. She looks for a level of consistency and quality in the work of the New Zealand artists she chooses to represent in her gallery. Parker Gallery showcases a mix of mediums including sculpture, original paintings, ceramics and glass. It’s fair to say there’s bound to be something for everyone to appreciate within these walls.

Parker Gallery takes pride in exhibiting both established artists’ work as well as lifting new and emerging artists into the awareness of gallery visitors. Predominantly an evolving collection, Parker Gallery runs individual or group artist shows now and again. The annual gallery birthday celebration exhibition is one to look out for as well.

Whether you’re on the hunt for that unique piece of art for your home or are purely viewing art for the love of it, Parker Gallery is well worth a nosey around when next in the Nelson Tasman region.
