Beautifully stacked shelves of goodies from all over the world, Vetro Mediterranean Foods is not an easy place to leave empty-handed. Know that an hour or so spent perusing the shelves might just mean your kitchen cupboard gets a bit of a gourmet makeover once you make it home. Anything from olives to oils to canned goods and specialty wines, this is a grocer with a point of difference, and if that recipe you’re trying out is calling for a niche ingredients, then Vetro Mediterranean Foods is likely the place you’ll find it. Got guests coming over? Impress them with the best antipasto platter they’ve seen with specially imported nuts, olives, cheeses, condiments and salami.
Caffeine is one way to keep you going when energy levels dip, so lucky then that Revolver Espresso exists under the very same roof, and the baristas there know how to brew a good one.
The only independent coffee roaster in Rotorua, Revolver Espresso aims to bring totally unique and handcrafted coffee to locals who know a good thing when they taste it. Sit around the big communal table and strike up a conversation with someone new, or browse the big stack of up-to-date magazines - who knows, you might find a recipe with ingredients needed from Vetro just behind you .. There’s wholesale beans to take home too, and likely you’ll be buying them off Andrew at the counter who just so happens to be the owner/operator behind the boutique business.
