A baker and creator since she was little, owner/operator Joy Aing of Fryday Donuts first experimented with flavours and textures on friends from her home-based kitchen before expanding into business, (with the help of partner and handy-man builder Tainui Salzmann). With success due mainly to some good old marketing known as word of mouth, Fryday Donuts soon became a viable business and much sought after treat by Tawa and Porirua locals for different events.
Donuts may not be quite the thing you’re after, but one of the superfood smoothies certainly will. Try the mango deluxe or chocolate cacao options. More of a savoury fan? Grab a frybread with the hot dish of the day, or a range of delicious topping combinations. Wanting to impress someone special and feeling like a cake just won’t well, cut the cake? Try a made-to-order gift box instead with a specialty donut, plenty of chocolates and sweets on the side.
Flavours galore, expect to find fun things like banoffee, lemon zest, maple and bacon, apple cinnamon, Reese’s peanut butter, cookies and cream, vanilla glaze as well as the good old original sugar and cinnamon. Creating a new flavour each week means there’s every excuse to make it a regular stop off, and if you’re low on time we suggest grabbing a L’affare coffee to go and taking a four pack of donuts home with you.
