Vic Books flagship on Kelburn Parade is Wellington’s top destination for your next book. They serve delicious hot Coffee Supreme coffee too making it a dream for any bibliophile.

Since 1975, Vic Books has been a beacon on the campus at Victoria University of Wellington. Located on the ground floor of the university’s grand Easterfield Building, it’s the place where locals, friends, students and staff all come to congregate. Whether you’re catching up for coffee and a bite, want to philosophise over literature, or grab a quick gift, the welcoming energy permeates.

The floor to ceiling shelves are overflowing with every kind of title you can imagine. From hot new fiction, clothbound classics to Te Reo novels and iconic children’s books, there’s a lot to explore. Make sure you leave enough time to peruse their superbly curated offering. If choosing proves difficult, the staff here know their stuff. So don’t be shy, ask them to make a great reading recommendation. After all, booksellers have a canny knack for getting it right.

You can pick up more than books too. Vic Books stocks a range of attractive gifts and stationery. You'll find the legendary Moleskine notebooks used by many great thinkers and writers (yes, Ernest Hemingway was a fan). And if you're on the search for Victoria University memorabilia, you can browse the line-up of clothing, bags and bears.

Once you’ve scoured the store, the contemporary café inside has all bases covered. With a cabinet packed with baked goods, lunch options and great coffee, if you can, why not linger a while longer.
