In the heart of Clyde, Recharge is your go-to for fresh, feel-good food complemented by the friendliest service around. Local owner Gareth made the move into this bigger space at the end of 2023, after starting out as a juice bar in the cute little tin building next door. The cafe is all about balance, focusing on nutritious meals that still leave plenty of room for a cheese roll or slice of homemade cake.

While the exterior is simple and sleek, Recharge opens up into a relaxed, homely space filled with rustic wooden finishes, pops of colour, and beautiful local artwork that celebrates Clyde’s historic streetscape. It’s roomy and spacious, but never loses its cosy, familiar feel.

Families are especially well looked after here, with a dedicated kids’ corner complete with a play kitchen, perfect for keeping little ones entertained while parents enjoy a peaceful coffee. In the front section, there’s also a lovely selection of local goods on offer, including Forage & Gold honey, Dunford Grove olive oil, and Kitchen Window chutneys.

Recharge specialises in fresh cold-pressed juices, with three flavours: Vitamin C, Fresh Beet, and Clean Green, that can be sipped in the cafe or taken away in glass bottles (250ml or 1L) for your fridge at home. Creamy, fruity smoothies are another local favourite, and the baristas pour a top-notch cup of Ozone Coffee to help wake the town up.

Walk up to the cabinet and you’ll find a generous smorgasbord of tasty options, from filled sammies and bagels to XL cheese rolls, and homemade cakes. The all-day menu changes with the seasons, featuring everything from house-made granola, omelettes and waffles, to nourishing salads, buddha bowls and the crowd-favourite burgers, including a vegan cauliflower version that’s just as satisfying as the classic cheeseburger.

Recharge is wholesome, welcoming, and just what you need to get you through your day.
