The Bus Stop Cafe is a hidden secret a stone's throw away from Te Horo Beach. A definite go-to-destination when exploring Kāpiti Coast, this unique spot offers a local experience not to be missed.

Follow the path through a luscious garden and find your way to the blue bus that has been cleverly converted into a cafe. Step on in and make your order, then wander the surroundings to find that perfect spot to perch on while taking in all that this creative environment has to offer. If you peek over the fence, you might even get lucky and spot owner-operator Kirsty's pet alpacas grazing on the paddock behind the bus.

There are multiple shelters for when the weather is not playing ball, including a roaring fire within one, but when the sun is out, this is the place to be. Spread across the outdoor area filled with roses, herbs and a variety of fruit trees, you'll find tables under umbrellas, bean bags to lounge in and lawns for kids to play and run around on.

Taking you back to the good old days, stopping by The Bus Stop Cafe is a must when in the area. On top of delicious baking and great coffee, you can stock up on preserves, crafts by local creators and even locally famous Tironui sourdough bread.

Dogs are very welcome here, and the whole family is sure to enjoy an outing and a bite to eat at The Bus Stop.
