For a brand that’s all about minimising its impact on the environment, Little City Kombucha is certainly making a splash from its very own slice of Porirua.

Surrounded by the multitude of warehouses on Kenepuru Drive, the Little City Kombucha brew store seems unassuming at first but effortlessly makes its presence felt. Corrugated iron, expanses of concrete and polished steel surfaces lend the store a minimalist, industrial feel, broken only by the splashes of colour emblazoned across the bottles of kombucha. The centrepiece of the space is, without doubt, the fill-your-own wall fitted out in lacquer black, where visitors are invited to pour the flavour of the month themselves.

Speaking of flavours, the choices are ever-growing in the kombucha sphere, and there are plenty to choose from at Little City Kombucha. You can’t go wrong with a classic, however, and the lemon and ginger is always a safe pick (Little City Kombucha’s version even boasts a shiny silver medal, which it scooped at the 2022 New Zealand Artisan Awards). And for the craft beer lovers among us, the dry-hopped booch is a healthy alternative.

Best of all, Little City Kombucha is a Porirua business that knows it has a role to play in protecting the planet. You get to enjoy their fizzy goodness with a clear conscience - it’s made by locals, fermented naturally with real ingredients, and packed into bottles made from recycled glass, all before being delivered in a hybrid vehicle.

Little City Kombucha truly believes kombucha is the healthy, guilt-free, go-to drink for everyone. So whether you hail from the big smoke or call rural Aotearoa home, it’s time to make your way to the Little City.
