Whitireia Road, Tītahi Bay

Fancy a walk somewhere that’s really going to blow off the cobwebs? Whitireia Park looks out over Porirua Harbour, and the stunning coastal views come hand in hand with some good old sea wind that is most likely just what the doctor ordered.

Look out to Mana Island and marvel at all this beauty that is 180 hectares of grassland right on your doorstep. Easy to navigate, Whitireia Park has plenty of car parks, and narrow roads wind themselves around the whole place so you can cruise from one end to the other no problems. Expect to see some fellow outdoor enthusiasts up here biking, horse riding, fishing or walking, although there’s so much space it’s easy to feel like you’re the first person to discover this hidden headland gem.

Take a breather from the city and recenter yourself in a picturesque spot that has million dollar views every way you look.
