Disclaimer: you won’t find anything else like this in Queenstown. Country Lane is a charming village, home to a collective of local businesses that have been thoughtfully selected for their boutique offering and community ethos.

Before the establishment of Country Lane, the land was a working farm until 2006, passed down through four generations. Today, brother and sister Bruce Grant and Tineke Enright stand as the caretakers, steering away from agricultural pursuits to transform their cherished property into an unparalleled destination celebrating independent businesses and homegrown talent.

The makeover first began with the renovation of the barn, built by Bruce and Tineke’s grandfather in the early 50s. It now serves as a haven of children’s clothing and books, handcrafted furniture, locally designed accessories, artwork, indoor plants, skincare, and more treasures. But that’s just one of many discoveries in the village.

Within the neighbourhood of heritage buildings, many relocated from Lake View Holiday Park, a diverse community of residents each add their own special touch. From immersive beekeeping experiences to workshops hosted by renowned jeweller Jessica Winchcombe, from vintage clothing stores to tattoo parlours, from a seriously good cookie shop to barbers, every corner brims with magic. Not to mention Sundays, a standout pizzeria occupying a lovingly restored church.

Despite forging a new path, Country Lane retains its rustic charm, with remnants of its agricultural heritage popping up in every cranny – whether it’s the weathered sheds and original barn floors or horses, goats and bunnies roaming freely. It’s an inclusive and family-friendly environment where children can run and play, parents savour moments of relaxation with a cup of coffee, friends gather for leisurely lunches and visitors soak up a memorable local experience.
