Christchurch Farmers Market
Saturdays 9.00am - 1.00pm
16 Kahu Rd
The Christchurch Farmers Market at Riccarton House is one of the best food markets in Christchurch. On a sunny Saturday there is no better place to be. Located in one of the last native bushland areas in Christchurch (and home to the city’s oldest house), the setting is achingly twee. The combination of live music, history, frenzied ducks and knowing that you are buying your groceries direct from the grower adds to this feeling.
Stalls include organic fruit, vegetables and herbs, fresh bread, iced cookies, macarons, cakes and cupcakes, coffee, chocolate, organic yoghurt, smoked salmon, free range chicken and eggs, gourmet seasonings and smoked garlic, honey… everything you need for the pantry. Ready to eat hot pasties, pies and mini quiches are also available if you feel like a little brunch on the river bank.
