The younger sibling of its Kaikōura based namesake, Addy & Lou Christchurch, is a homewares and gift store and a whole lot more.

Adding charm and sophistication to the ever-evolving south side of the city, Addy & Lou inhabits a former import car warehouse and shares the space with Threefold Architecture, the cutest wee coffee shop, Little Battersea, and florist, A Little Bit Floral. It’s a true hub with an amicable community feel at this Sydenham corner – and with all of the businesses connected by family ties or friendships, it’s a special warm feel as you step in through the doors.

The beautifully curated Addy & Lou holds gems of all kinds, arranged eye-pleasingly by colour. There is everything from small gift items to statement furniture to browse, plus possibly the cutest selection of children’s clothing available in the city: think labels such as By Billie, Ziggylou and Noni. Also worth noting, this store is the only New Zealand stockist of Sunshine coast based Hello Trader, a maker of stunning furniture and luxurious linen, including clothing, which comes in both adult and kids sizes (anyone into mini & me twinning?).

On top of functioning as a retail store for all things beautiful, the talented people behind Addy & Lou can help with any of your interior styling needs, be it re-upholstering, finding the perfect rug for your space, drapes or even home staging. Intermittently, they also like to host different pop-ups, and the future may even see events take place here.

Once the summer months roll in, Little Battersea will take all the advantage of the north facing outdoors and will provide sun drenched streetside seating for your caffeine sipping pleasure. Coffee is taken seriously here, and it’s always poured to perfection. The cabinet stocks a selection of Grizzly Baked Goods pastries, too, as well as freshly made toasties to go along with your drink of choice.

For all your flower needs, point your nose towards the floral bar, where A Little Bit Floral works its magic. Whether you’re after a gorgeous bunch of fresh flowers or a stunning dried flower arrangement for a special space, it’s all possible righ
