Everything served at Ginger Bird is made fresh each morning on-site, and items like the homemade Bounty Bar keep locals coming back. This slice features the classic coconut flavours of any good bounty bar but also happens to be vegan, which means anyone and everyone can enjoy it. The cashew caramel slice is similarly delicious, with a bit of crunch, nutty goodness and sticky, sweet caramel. This one is gluten free but you’d never pick it. While gluten free and vegan treats aren’t the sole focus at Ginger Bird, they make it easy for everyone to find something they like.
If you’re in the mood for something filling, check out the savoury pies. All the classics like mince and cheese and bacon and egg are present. From the first bite of flaky, buttery pastry you’ll know these pies are made with love. Other options such as the corn fritters make a great breakfast or lunch, too.
Grab a coffee to go with your treats. Every drink is made with Ebony Coffee Beans which are roasted just down the road in Palmerston North. Ginger Bird is kid and dog friendly with games to entertain the little ones and plenty of outdoor seating under the awning, too. Owner, Alice, is just 21 but delivers a welcoming, special cafe experience for all who visit.
