Wild Pear Kitchen in New Plymouth is a haven for lovers of vegan and vegetarian cuisine, a welcoming and award-winning café that specialises in fresh and tasty super-foods.

As you walk through the door you will be instantly hit with the smell of the delicious kai being prepared on-site. The kitchen daily conjures up a multitude of healthy salads, chef specials, sandwiches and muffins, as well as raw slices and cakes. You can choose to order from their menu or simply pick from the mouth-watering pre-prepared salads in the cabinet. Wild Pear Kitchen has a noteworthy smoothie bar that uses an immunity-boosting mix of raw ingredients, but if you fancy something a wee bit more indulgent, opt for a plant-based milkshake.

The café is partitioned into two distinct sections; a set of freestanding shelves laden with international artisan produce divides the space. You can order at the counter and browse the products (including a range of Wild Pear Kitchen sauces and preserves) before taking a seat on the other side of the partition. Here you’ll find a quiet spot to relax amongst the green plants, before your order arrives. A bold jungle-inspired wallpaper adorns one wall and is fitting given the love that goes into creating the plant-based food on offer.

Whether you want to grab a quick bite for lunch, have a catch up with a friend over coffee and cake, or order catering for a special event, Wild Pear Kitchen will have you covered. They have harnessed their passion for whole foods into a wide range of plant-based and vegetarian dishes much to the delight of New Plymouth residents.
