With a Scandinavian-inspired fit-out to match the mountains and adventures to be had in Wānaka, you'll quickly understand why this café’s tagline is ‘Gather, feast, stay for a while.’

The modern space features light wood finishes and polished concrete floors, and stands proudly as a large and open a-frame, showing off views of the lake and township through expansive windows. A welcoming spot in all four seasons, there’s an open fire to gather near during the winter months as well as outdoor seating options when you’re ready to soak up the sun. The relaxed feel makes this a perfect venue to sit back and stay awhile, so feel free to bring a book, your computer, or just a few good friends to chat away with.

The coffee is supplied by Wolf, a local roaster based just over the hill in Arrowtown, and there are filter and cold brew options alongside delicious espresso. For those looking for a more calming, cosy beverage, they also serve up Webster's Organic Tea in a myriad of flavours.

The cabinet features a delicious spread of sweet and savoury options, all of which are made and baked daily, in-house, from twice-baked croissants to their renowned gluten-free chocolate chip sea salt cookies. If you’re after a bigger plate, the all-day menu has you covered with a mix of fresh, savoury breakfast options like the Scroggin Benedict (don’t be thinking this is standard bene-fare; it features curried rosti, fried kale chips and sriracha hollandaise) and Lamb + Feta Toast, to those for the sweet-oriented such as the Buckwheat Waffles and the Cacao Buckwheat Granola, both of which use New Zealand-grown buckwheat. The menu changes with the seasons and uses local ingredients wherever possible, reflecting the delicate nature of our landscape.
