Pay attention next time you are driving down Fitzgerald Ave because here you will find a cafe and roastery home to some of the best brews and beans in the city. Located somewhat inconspicuously at the intersection of Lichfield Street, Coffee Embassy is an old mechanic’s workshop transformed into a cool little espresso bar and wholesale roastery. A fit out of galvanized steel and polished-ply furniture is complemented with white-painted brick walls and industrial-style lighting.
Embassy specialises in highest quality coffee, creating its own blends as well as offering unique single origins. Beans are sourced from all around the world and roasted three days a week. With the espresso bar located in the same building as the roastery, customers can witness some of the action up close.
Almost everything roasted on site is available for tasting. That includes four types of filter coffee, two of which are on tap, plus different blends specifically crafted for either black or white espresso. During the warmer months, there’s also a chilled filter coffee option.
They also cater beautifully to the masses with a cabinet brimming with filled rolls and delectable sweet treats. There is a mix of Bellbird and Grizzly baked goods, plus a few slices and locally famous cheese scones that are made on site. The focus is on small bites that cater for a variety of dietary needs.
At Embassy, you can also stock up on home brewing gear with plenty of quality products to choose from, whether it’s espresso, filter or aeropress you’re into. Carefully selected pantry items, such as Apostle Hot Sauces, Bones pickles and Wise Boys vegan mayos are available for grabs, too, along with coffee beans, of course.
