A contract brewer since 2011, Grieg McGill recently decided along with business partner Phil Murray, that it was time to open their own space and finally create a home for beer company Brewaucracy. The name comes from the liberal duo who wanted a cheeky way to reflect their push back against all the red tape surrounding breweries, and with beers on tap with names like ‘tax evasion’ (which is, not surprisingly, very easy to drink), it’s clear that tongue in cheek humour plays a big part in this business.

A taproom that sits nestled in alongside their impressive stainless steel tanks, this is the place to come to try Brewaucracy beers at their freshest, and, even better, have a chat to the blokes that made it. From ESBs, amber ales, IPAs and porters, this little brewing business knows its stuff when it comes to supplying thirsty beer drinkers with something out of the ordinary. If all that tasting has made you hungry, then you’ll be pleased to know that you can sit in with some grub from the onsite food truck that changes daily. Washed down with a pint of your favourite brew, of course, or a tasting paddle for the indecisive (-ly thirsty).

Big hops or big malts, whatever your style the knowledgeable team (and brewers!) behind the counter will talk you through the tasters and ensure you walk out with a bottle in hand of something you’re really going to love. Bring in your own vessels to fill, or buy a plastic rigger from behind the counter, and to make sure you don’t go running out we suggest you fill up regularly.
