Sustainability is the word on everyone’s lips at the moment, and the small changes we can make to keep our country clean, green and free from pollution are paramount. To put it plainly: beating the heavy city traffic on a good ol’ electric pair of wheels seems like a bloody good idea.

Enter: Electrify. Without even planning it, Dee and Dan Tairaki started their journey with electric bikes on “Car Free Day”. From the humble Kiwi beginnings of a marquee and a couple of bikes to a 200m² building, the popularity for e-bikes is growing as people come from all over for the team's willingness to give honest and helpful advice (without the sales pitch).

Customers chatting away like old friends, genuine smiles, and a firm handshake are all there to greet you upon arrival. There are city commuters, mountain bikes, and leisure options, making it easy to find the perfect fit for your lifestyle. You can get a quick lesson from the experts to take you from zero to hero, and take comfort in the knowledge that there's a bike mechanic on hand if anything goes awry.

Lowering carbon emissions, creating less traffic, and improving the health of Kiwis are at the top of Electrify’s priorities. Having already started work with the city council and large corporations in Hamilton to encourage residents to ditch the car, we'd say they're well on their way to meeting their goals.
