Sublime Roastery & Brew Bar on Nelson’s New Street is the flagship location for the coffee roasters and provides a unique experience for caffeine lovers. Here, you can watch the roastery in full swing and taste a variety of single-origin coffee at the same time. There’s no espresso machine at Sublime Roastery & Brew Bar, but you can choose from a variety of different brewing methods to appreciate coffee in its purest form.
The high-ceilinged industrial building has been divided into a coffee brew bar at the front with cosy old school chairs and tables with unlimited wifi, and offices and training space along the side with colourful South American streetscape. The roastery, occupies the majority of the space and customers are invited to walk through and watch the coffee roasters at work, have a yarn and learn about the entire process of coffee roasting.
A family business through and through, Sublime is owned and operated by Dan and Emma Hennah, who first began roasting beans on a small scale back in 2005. Since then, the business has grown immensely and these days Sublime beans are available at well-stocked supermarkets and various cafés across New Zealand.
The ethos behind Sublime Roastery & Brew Bar is to give people a place where they can taste and appreciate all the different origins of coffee and make themselves at home. The friendly people behind the business love nothing more than seeing their cusotomers play cards or settle down with a laptop at one of the tables. They want Sublime to be a communal place where everyone is welcome.
On top of the black liquid gold, you can also pick up everything you need at Sublime Roastery & Brew Bar for home brewing purposes.
