Looking to ethically revamp your wardrobe with a funky, unique edge? The racks of Godzilla Clothing in the heart of Nelson’s CBD have exactly what you need.

More than your basic op-shop, Godzilla Clothing’s ethos is squarely on inclusivity and style: clothing is organised by type (and even colour!) for easy perusing, and each retro or vintage piece has been thoughtfully selected for quality and flair. So you might find a pop-culture patched denim jacket; a flowing floral dress; a multicoloured, leopard-print bodysuit; or fringed, red leather boots—check out the mannequins in the windows for some inspo. The seasonal stock is constantly changing, so plan to come back more than once to see what’s new.

The walls and shelves are also decorated with second-hand fittings, including signs, paraphernalia from the 1980s and ‘90s, and (yes) a few namesake Godzilla figurines. But what really makes Godzilla Clothing special is its focus on community and inclusivity, with the owners, staff and customers embracing an openness to experimentation in fashion and expression.

Whether you’re looking to shop local for that perfect staple piece you’ll wear again and again or something to wear to a themed costume party, Godzilla Clothing is your one-stop shop. And if you have a particularly unusual, pre-loved item, you’re looking to part with? Bring it in and see if it piques the team’s interest.
