Pizza and craft beer - is there a more iconic duo? If you’re in Palmerston North, you can find both at Tony’s, a craft beer and pizza bar that brings a slice of New York to the Manawatū.

Conveniently located on The Square, right in the heart of town, Tony’s bold, bright, orange-and-blue colour scheme draws in passersby from afar. The funky theme is replicated within, complemented by the more muted, earthy tones of the booths, shelves and other furniture fashioned from wooden pallets. The focus here is firmly on fun - the perfect accompaniment to a good slice of pizza - and there’s plenty to get stuck into while waiting for your order, whether it’s Jenga, foosball, Connect Four, or arcade games you’re into.

Owner Jack Foston used to manage a craft beer bar in New York, so he definitely knows his stuff when it comes to pizza by the slice and top-notch beers. There are eight pizzas to choose from, including vegan and vegetarian options, as well as eight strictly New Zealand craft beers. Tony’s prides itself on being a good supporter of local - its meats are sourced from Woody's Free Range on the Kapiti Coast.

And for those who never know what to do with their pizza crusts, there’s a selection of crust dips you can choose from, ranging from ranch, three-cheese, and salsa verde to smoked black garlic aioli and more.

Come for the pizza and beer, stay for the vibes. Tony’s is undoubtedly a hub of good food and good times in the heart of Palmy.
