Tucked away on the hill heading to Berhampore, is new arrival Rich Coffee Roasters, aka - Cam and Richie. Although the new guys on the block, they are by no means amateurs. Both started their coffee careers in New Zealand, but intensified their knowledge and experience with stints in London. Cam was part owner of the acclaimed Flat White in Soho and Richie spent ten years roasting at Monmouth Coffee.

When the time came to return home and after a couple of years between some varied roles, the two spotted their optimal Roaster (a Petroncini) and thus an opportunity - Rich Coffee Roasters was formed. After tracking down an ideal space on Adelaide Road the two began the set-up process.

Fast-forward to today and their 10 kilogram roaster is operational with a goal of coolly roasting one tonne of beans per week in the not too distant future. Their signature blend is made up of 80% Brazilian and 20% Kenyan beans, resulting in a fruity fresh taste. Green beans are sourced on quality, with the hopes of developing direct relationships with growers in the future.

For a taste of their expertly roasted espresso, head down to their first wholesale customer, Milk Crate – and what a spot to start! The two businesses plan on working side-by-side to showcase their seasonal changing espresso at its best.

Rich Coffee is all about organic growth, meaning don’t expect to see them popping up all over town. It’s a constantly changing process and the guys are focussing on a top quality unique product which takes time and dedication. The space is also available through appointment bookings for a bit of banter and education to get you up to speed on the way Rich Coffee roasts.
