Dear Jervois hosts the who’s who of Herne Bay for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These trend-setters are carving a new path of creative brunch options, while keeping their cabinets stocked with the favourites we’ve come to expect from the local café. Look a little closer and you’ll find an exciting mix of Korean style brunch dishes on the menu, with matcha waffles, shiitake mushrooms, crispy pork belly and kimchi fried rice. Sunday brunch has never been this spicy (or filled with organic wholefood). Dear Jervois also serve vegan bowls, acai bowls, poke bowls and their own take on the millennial’s favourite brunch food, smashed avocado.
This buzzy café has just switched to Flight Coffee and is proudly serving this Wellington roast to its customers, with filter and cold brew options also on offer. Never afraid to mix healthy/tasty, their charcoal smoothie is surprisingly delicious and wonderfully good for you, and they have a great selection of vegan, gluten/dairy free smoothie options too, to keep their customers happy. From the founders of the famous ‘Little King Cafe’ in Milford, Dear Jervois is another jewel in the crown as their CBD café Major Sprout grows in popularity too.
Dear Jervois is very popular on the weekends, but well worth waiting for a table. While Saturday and Sunday are not available for bookings, you can now call for a table on the weekdays, and hire the café for private functions as well. They’ve recently opened for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings, so swing by for a drink and a tasty pork bun. Their cheery staff and delicious food will be sure to keep you smiling.
