Crushes has so much heart. You feel it as soon as you enter with the friendly welcome, the fragrance, and the playlists. Every piece in this special Auckland store has been hand picked and hard to find elsewhere. Where else can you find back-to-back handmade pieces from local New Zealand makers that look like they are straight out of pinterest, and the best selection of affordable and modern-leaning vintage clothing for men and women?

Crushes is the home of conscious consumerism. A place where you can purchase freely without guilt, as all of the hard work finding sustainable and ethical lifestyle and clothing pieces have been done for you. By shopping at Crushes, you will be supporting up to 60 local businesses, some of which are tiny, or make their goods by hand, or are socially conscious (using models like 'buy one, give one'). And if you purchase a pre-loved piece here, you are ensuring that there was no harmful labour, or excessive emissions used to create the garment you love, while also giving that piece a new (and hopefully happy) life.

Crushes don’t stop there. They want to ensure their products are part of a circular ecosystem, and so have installed their own re-fillery and recycling station in store. Customers can return the vessels of their used candles to reuse and remake future candles and also bring empty bottles of body goods to refill using their large pump bottles eliminating the need for new packaging. They also stock a range of other home and body sustainable items, including reusable food wrap, reusable razors and house cleaning concentrates.

The inimitable Karangahape Road has been the home of Crushes since 2013 and the street and its people are their muse. Looking closely at what their community wears, what topics they are passionate about, and what products they have a need for, is key to their success as Crushes is designed to be a place where like minded people can gather, be creative, and do life with each other.
