Eluding mainstream audiences by hiding down Grosvenor Street and then secluding itself further down a narrow country lane, the Vitrine is one of those blink and you’ll miss it type places with a lust for well crafted furniture and antique house accessories. Nevertheless, those who seek it out make others passing by sorry they ever did.

The elongated factory space where all the Euro vintage antiques are stored, is every customer’s dream. Each item has its own area so that prospective buyers can circumnavigate, see all sides to make sure it is to their liking. Pieces of art, furniture and a clear bias toward stools pack this popular warehouse to the brim.

Stained but sturdy chairs, a tonne of stylish lights from years long gone dangling overhead and some tables from the middle ages (or at least it appears a knight or two may have sat at some of them) make this a great place to visit for those hoping to deck out a small café or chic restaurant with cool stuff. There’s never been so much character in one spot! Even just a single piece can liven up a room with some earthen charm or rustic charisma.

A lot of the objects hail from the early 1900’s giving them an added gravitas that comes with age. Run your finger along one of the musty saddle racks or over the rough edge of a traveller’s long forgotten suitcase and you’ll realise this place is the real deal. Stock is regularly updated so check back frequently. Unlike some out of the way antique stores, this place takes eftpos, as well as cash, despite the whole place looking like a barter market in Greece during peak times.
