You won’t find anything quite like Kiki down George Street. Attention to detail makes the difference at Kiki, and the café’s aesthetic is carefully constructed. The espresso bar hosts the work of new emerging artists every month and you’ll find the characters of Dunedin’s art scene regularly haunting this joint. A licensed ‘refreshment room’, with Supreme coffee, tap beer, liquors and wines, Kiki’s newest fascination is soda, with a range of lemonades and orange blossom flavours.
Kiki has moved down the hill from Roslyn and is now the nucleus to a very regular clientele of George Street locals. Order a bowl of fries and choose from a range of different salts, try a Vietnamese pork baguette or a slice of their famous gingerbread. Lean up against the bar, chat with your server and watch your food be prepared right in front of you; this interactive environment keeps the atmosphere lively and fresh. Come the evening, expect a chilled vibe, music that is loud and good, wine by the glass and Asahi on tap.
A perfect escape from the norm, the status quo or the daily grind- leave the grunge and come clean at Kiki.
