You won’t find anything else quite like Kiki Beware down George Street. Attention to detail makes all the difference, and this café’s aesthetic is carefully constructed. The espresso bar hosts the work of new emerging artists every month and you’ll find characters of Dunedin’s art scene regularly haunting this joint. A licensed ‘refreshment room’ with Common Ground coffee, tap beer, liquors and wines, Kiki’s newest fascination is soda; discover their range of lemonades and orange blossom flavours.
Kiki has moved down the hill from Roslyn and is now the nucleus of a very regular clientele of George Street locals. Order a bowl of fries and choose from a range of different salts, try a Vietnamese pork baguette, or a slice of their famous gingerbread. Lean up against the bar, chat with your server and watch your food being prepared right in front of you; this interactive environment keeps the atmosphere lively and fresh. Come evening, expect a chilled vibe, music that is loud and good, wine by the glass and Asahi on tap.
A perfect escape from the norm, the status quo or the daily grind – leave the grunge and come to Kiki Beware.
