Offering a curated selection of clothing, accessories and shoes to the fine people of greater Wellington, Goodness Boutique has been a key part of Petone’s fabric since 2005. Something of a landmark, Goodness is housed in a newly earthquake strengthened (but lovingly restored) heritage building on historic Jackson Street. It’s the place to go to get all your fashion essentials, or to simply browse on a sunny weekend day.
Goodness is all about providing comfortable fabrics and garments that take you from morning to evening and back again. They’re each meant to be comfortable in every sense of the word - versatile, easy to wear and providing confidence in any occasion.
There’s a selection of quality labels sourced near and far, including Scotch and Soda, Noa Noa, Nice Things Paloma and much-loved ethical brand, Veja. Not to mention a smattering of their very own Goodness label, along with a range of jewellery, scented candles and gifts. There's an emphasis on easy, relaxed shopping with excellent assistance to find items that are perfect for now but worth keeping forever.
The Goodness label itself is something special, originating back in 2010 when founder Chris took a trip to China scouting fabrics and manufacturers. During a time when English speakers were less prominent in the region, Chris happened upon a family of tailors who she would go on to form a lifelong friendship with, despite the language barriers. The high quality of each garment pays testament to the strength of that ongoing relationship.
With a second store on College Street, Wellington, Goodness has embedded itself as one of the capital’s fashion institutions. And with new stock almost constantly on the way, it’s always a good time to find your way there.
