Long synonymous with Wellington’s unparalleled craft beer scene, Brewtown is quietly but effectively growing a reputation as the region’s ultimate family-friendly destination. It’s not difficult to see why.

Venture past the formidable lineup of breweries (after you and your party have treated yourselves to a tipple and a feed, of course) and you’ll find an unassuming building filled with such myriad activities it’s practically an indoor theme park. Whether it’s a rush of adrenaline you need to set the tone for the day, or something fun to keep the little ones occupied for an hour or two, it’s an all-ages festival of fun.

If you’re not sure where to start, Daytona Adventure Park is a safe bet. Featuring all the classics - karts, ice skating, tenpin bowling, paintball, and a 600 square metre trampoline park - in one handy spot, you’re bound to find something everyone is keen on.

A range of more top-notch activities, perfect for groups small and large, all in close proximity means you’re truly sorted for either an hour-long outing or a whole day trip. Test your aim at Sweet Axe Throwing Co. or The Witching Hour mini golf, or get your brain racing against the clock at Scapegoats Escape Room. For those into arts and crafts, Stackhouse Knives offers classes where you can make your own artisan knives and jewellery, and knackered parents will welcome the sight of Brewtown’s very own Chipmunks playground.

A true ‘village’ that has become a mainstay of the Upper Hutt community, Brewtown isn’t just about the beers. With a staggering array of things to do, the hub offers one of Wellington’s best days out for the whole family.
