From the folk behind Britomart’s Café Hanoi comes Perch, a corner bar that is all about handcrafted dumplings and boutique drinks.

The handmade pot stickers come in a variety of shapes, with a range of fillings and accompaniments. A cacophony of sound and smells emit from the kitchen, as could only be expected from endless steaming and pan-frying of dumplings.

With an assortment of flavours to sample (from bean curd and mushroom to beef and celery), chances are you may not want to head anywhere else for dinner; though what Perch has done well is keep portions inline with the notion that you’re there for a pre- or post-dinner drink and snack.

With their dumplings being a point of difference enough, Perch is equally well worth a visit for its impressive cocktail lineup and pan-Asian style courtyard area. We can only hope Perch is the beginning of more hospitality venues focusing on one dish done exceptionally well.
