It’s hard to beat a good sandwich, and at Tricky’s Sandwich Co., they’ve made it their business to be unbeatable. A small, family-run business tucked down a side street off Upper Hutt’s main drag, customers find themselves returning to this sandwich joint, time and time again. Whether it’s for a fresh Mediterranean Chicken sandwich, a Rainbow Sandwich (a vegetarian favourite) or a classic Grilled Cheese, there’s something for all ages and appetites.

The most popular sandwich flavours tend to be the hot meats (all cooked on site), with the Steak n Cheese and Pulled Pork options both selling out on the regular. Another top choice is the Chicken & Bacon Club, packed with delicious fillings, flavour and that third piece of bread to make sure it goes the distance. Although freshly made sandwiches are Tricky’s bread and butter, in recent times their expertise has expanded to include an offering of handmade baked goods and catering services.

On crisp winter weekends, you may find the Tricky’s caravan at local kids' soccer games serving up freshly brewed coffee, hot chocolates and warm scones, or at the speedway, serving sammies and hot coffees long into the night. In the past 12 months the catering aspect of the business has really taken off and the team regularly delivers lunches to numerous schools around Upper Hutt.

There’s always something yummy being prepared at Tricky’s, so next time you’re in Upper Hutt, wander in and see it for yourself. With a reputation like theirs, you'll be planning your return as soon as you're through the doors.
