A riotous hub of colour, outrageous eats, and good times, Gear Street Union has quickly forged a reputation as a go-to social spot for Petone locals and visitors alike. Housed in the historic Wellington Motorcycles building, this versatile venue effortlessly blends its industrial heritage with a vibrant atmosphere that keeps the conversations and the drinks flowing.

The first thing you notice when you step inside - there’s a lot going on. A range of seating options, from barbershop-style booths, plush leather seats, and communal tables, invite you to park up and settle in. Cast your eye over every detail within the space, from the neon signs and vintage vehicles to the gorgeous self-service fridge and the main bar that’s been fashioned out of a classic pickup truck. Outside, the expansive deck area is the perfect place in which to unwind under the festoon lights on any night. And like any good, inclusive eatery, dogs are more than welcome, so bring your pal along to join in the festivities.

Gear Street Union's menu is a delightful homage to American-style diner classics, reimagined with a bold Kiwi touch. They don’t do things quietly here - think gluttonous Biscoff pancakes for brunch, or towering burgers with names like ‘Mama So Big’ or ‘Who's Your Daddy?’ for dinner. The ribeye steak is a crowd favourite, and you can pair your meal with one of the sweet tap cocktails or a carefully curated craft beer or wine. Tempting specials, such as the 2-for-$22 desserts, $15 sangria jugs, or the unmissable steak night, provide an incentive any day of the week.

Whether you're in the mood for a mid-afternoon snack, a leisurely brunch, or a lively night out, Gear Street Union packs both the facilities and the menu to ensure you and your group are well looked after. Hop on your wheels, scoot on over, and find out what the fuss is all about.
