With a unique outlook across the narrow Whangateau Harbour towards the Omaha golf club, The Farmers Daughter is the kind of place where meals turn into memories and every visit feels like an occasion.
Spread across three distinct spaces - the dining room, the top deck and the front courtyard - this all-day eatery blends laid-back charm with a refined, seasonal menu. With a fresh, modern take on farm-to-fork dining, some dishes have earned cult status amongst locals. On a summer’s day, nothing beats the peaches with stracciatella, fennel and confit garlic, served with legendary Ringawera Sourdough. House-crafted cocktails, often infused with creative, in-house blends, add to the magic.
Owned by Kate Rose, The Farmers daughter was born from a love of honest food. The name is a tribute to Kate’s roots, and its ethos is all about family, farming, and the simple joy of gathering around a table. Ditching the fuss of white tablecloths, it’s all about ‘coming as you are’ to a place where food is grown, gathered and enjoyed.
Beyond the everyday menu, The Farmers Daughter hosts unforgettable events, from intimate weddings to long-table feasts that celebrate food, community, and the joy of coming together. And as for the future, Kate says they’re always looking for ways to keep things fresh and inspired: whether it’s through seasonal menu changes, unique events, or collaborations with local growers and artisans - there is always something new on the go.
