Everyone needs that bar where you can go and feel like yourself; non-pretentious, a few dark corners to hide in, perhaps a few big tables to dance on... Offering all that and more, Wonder Horse has established itself as the heart of Hamilton’s night scene with amazing service, a whole lot of soul, and a menu of magnificent cocktails.
Hidden in plain sight in a corner of the BNZ Theatre/Hamilton Hotel building, these mixing geniuses are at work pulling beers and pouring vinos for the thirsty people of Hamilton. Sister store Four Daughters out the back functions as a galley for Wonder Horse - serving a range of luxurious sandwiches and deli snacks into the wee hours.
Wonder Horse opened in 2012 and has since become a Hamilton fixture; the place to go for good chats, group hangs or after-dinner drinks. The first Wednesday of every month is Beer Club, where people gather to taste seven different craft brews and food all for the price of $35. Cocktail Club is the last Thursday of the month and includes three tasters, two cocktails and a snack for $50.
Closed from Sunday to Wednesday, you may find yourself hanging out for hump day because not only will you be over halfway to the weekend but at 5pm, Wonder Horse will open its doors.
